Hall of Fame

Dick Malone and Rikki Fleming became the latest members of the Ayr United Hall of Fame at the Centenary Dinner on May 8th at Ayr Racecourse.

Dick travelled up from his Sunderland home and Ricky from Glasgow for the gala occasion  and were delighted with the reception received and both hope to visit the Club a bit more often in future seasons.

Dick, right and Ricky lefty are pictured at the unveiling of the updated board watched on by former team mate and also Hall of Fame member Alex “Dixie” Ingram

The full line up of the Hall of Fame now reads: Ally MacLeod, Peter Price, Ian McAllister, John Murphy, Sam McMillan Henry Templeton, Davie Stewart, Alex Ingram, Sanny McAnespie, Dick Malone and Ricky Fleming

In November 2008 Alex Ingram, Davie Stewart and Sanny McAnespie, joined the Hall of Fame in another superb evening at the Racecourse.

In November 2007 at a sold out Club Hospitality suite John “Spud” Murphy, Sam McMillan and Henry Templeton joined the Club’s Hall of Fame.

Incredible demand for tickets ensured meant this event in future years would need larger premises.  It was a great night, Chaired by “Buller” Reid, along with Brian McGinlay and John Gilligan

The Club’s Hall of Fame kicked off in 2006 in the Hospitality suite and the first recipients were the late, great Ally MacLeod, all time record goalscorer Peter Price and Ian McAllister.
