John Henry moves to Blackburn

Ayr United assistant manager John Henry has moved to Blackburn Rovers with immediate effect to take up the position of first team coach.

Ian McCall said :” John is a great boy and someone I rate very highly, he was the first person I contacted when I got the job here to come and join me. He is going to be reunited with Owen Coyle and it is a great opportunity for him. I am gutted he is leaving us but its a well deserved chance for him and there’s no way we could stand in his way. John has been a huge part of helping turn the club around and getting it on the upward curve that we feel we are on now.”

John Henry said :”It’s an opportunity I just couldn’t turn down and Owen wants me to start straight away. I have loved my time at Ayr, the club has been fantastic to me and it was great to be part of the turn around in fortunes. I fully believe the club is going in the right direction, the gaffer has been fantastic and he has a great team around him. There is a really good group of players there just now and I think they can have a good season.”

Everyone at Ayr United thanks John for his efforts at the club and wishes him all the very best in his new role.
