Spirit AeroSystems and AUFC

13/06/2008 16:35:30

33 Teams , around 330 young players , approx 250 supporters.
Sunday 4th May was a day to remember

In partnership with Ayr United Community Programme and the West of Scotland Youth Football League. Spirit Aero Systems sponsored Football Festival provided fun, thrills and football experiences for a huge amount of people.

The Festival marked the 1st event of 4 Festivals which Spirit Aero systems and partners will organise.
Playing on Somerset Park, home of Ayr United FC was a huge attraction for the day and the football on show did the venue proud.

David White, Football Development Officer commented, “I hope these festivals can become yearly events and be placed in the Local Youth Football Leagues Calendar of Football.
The interest shown in the event proves the demand to play, coach and watch football within the local community is there.
Providing opportunities for local young footballers is vital in the player pathway that Ayr United FC,Academy & the West of Scotland Youth Football League are trying to encourage.
A big Thanks to all who took part, organised and supported on the day. A special mention to Spirit Aero systems for sponsorship and to Lin Ramsay from Spirit for her fantastic contribution.
