Airdrie match preview

MATCH PREVIEW – Ayr United v Airdrie – Ladbrokes League One – Saturday 30th April. Kick off 3pm.

On Saturday we host the final league match of the 2015/16 season. A win will ensure a second place finish for United and only a win for Peterhead at East End Park and a win for Airdrie at Somerset Park will mean Peterhead finish second.

On the final day of last season we headed to Forfar needing to win to avoid the relegation play off so the turn around in fortunes has been significant.

Last week saw Ayr win 4-0 away to Peterhead with goals from Ross McCrorie, Jordan Preston and a double from Young Player of the Year Craig Moore.

Team News – Peter Murphy misses out through suspension. Brian Gilmour, Ryan Stevenson and Alan Trouten are all back in the squad.

Ian Says :”It’s all about keeping the momentum going. Back to back four nil wins have the squad really buzzing and we had a great training session last night. Everyone is working really hard. We have plenty of options of what to do with the team on Saturday, several players are coming back from injury and we might decide to rest a couple of players and if we do that it certainly wont weaken the team when you see the players available.”
